This is an introductory level book in which a story is used to teach the beginnings of jazz rhythms & swing feel. Students participate in an interactive story which includes acting and speaking parts, playing instruments to magic words, and improvisation using instruments, scatting and body movement. Music arrangements using recorders, xylophones, and percussion are included for older students for possible performances. The CD contains a  jazz instrumental version of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,” as well as three instrument examples of jazz soloing featuring the flute, clarinet & jazz vocalist.
