This is an introductory level book in which a story is used to teach the beginnings of latin jazz rhythms & feel, and for students to participate in an interactive story. Participation will include acting and speaking parts, playing instruments to magic words, and improvisation using instruments, scatting and body movement. Music arrangements using recorders, xylophones, and percussion are included for older students for possible performances. This CD contains a jazz instrumental version of “You are my Sunshine,” as well as three instrument examples of jazz soloing featuring the guitar, trumpet and jazz vocalist.
